Luxembourg City Tour in 3 hours
Have you ever heart about Gibraltar? I guess yes, but perhaps you never heard about the "Gibraltar of the north". It's no joke! Luxembourg with its more than 1000 years of history was in middle age one of the best defended fortresses in Europe. Therefore, we had a lot of "friends". The Spanish king once occupied us, Napoleon and lots of other emperors came here to stay, and every new "housekeeper" enlarged the fortifications. When you come here to visit, you might see quite a lot of these restored ruins.
But this is of course not the only reason for your stay here, so don't worry, we will also see lots more! The financial district with it's more than 150 different banks, the Europeen center , the "golden lady", the Palais Grand Ducal and more.
The tour 2 hours, depending on your preference.
!!! IMPORTANT !!! During wintermonth, visit of the casemattes not always possible, I will check it on each request and confirm before final booking.
If you google Luxembourg city and see the map, you'll see that the distances are low. The itinerary is flexible, depending a little bit on weather conditions but all in all, everything is possible even under worst conditions.
We start in center at the "place d'armes, go direction "Palais Grand ducal", then to the "Bock", a nice place to see parts of the fortress, we then will have a look on the "Wenzelwee", to the "Grund", come back through the "Petrusse" under "Pont Adolphe" and will aim to the "Gelle Fraa", the luxembourg symbol for liberty with a visit to the "Cathédrale" and end up in "Groussgaas", a nice shoppingstreet where we will directly come back to "Place d'Armes".
